MBCA Scholarship Foundation

Scholarships are awarded in the amount of $1,500 and the number of awards is determined by the amount of funds available within the scholarship foundation. Students must be a current high school graduating senior; resident of the greater Atlantic City region; accepted to a higher education institution; and have not received a prior MBCA scholarship. Additional information pertaining to the award can be found on the application. Scholarships are awarded at the annual scholarship luncheon.

MBCA also recognizes an area teacher for their outstanding contributions to education. The Outstanding Teacher Recognition Award, in the amount of a $1,500 grant, is presented during the annual luncheon. The grant is for the purpose of obtaining supplies, equipment or purchasing student incentives related to his/her teaching. Criteria for the award include utilizing innovative teaching techniques, being a positive role model, and demonstrating resourcefulness within the classroom.

For full consideration all application materials must be submitted (dropped off or mailed) no later than Thursday, March 28, 2024, 4 PM at the MBCA Offices located at 1616 Pacific Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ 08401. The Annual MBCA Scholarship Foundation Awards Luncheon is scheduled for Monday, May 6, 2024, 12 Noon, at Resorts Casino Hotel. The keynote speaker is Dr. Joe Bertolino, president of Stockton University.

Educator Award Criteria
School Administrators can nominate deserving teachers to receive the Epicurean Society of Southern New Jersey Teacher Grant.

Determination
Scholarship recipients are selected by the Scholarship Committee from the submitted applications.

Scholarship Criteria

Candidates for the scholarships must meet the following eligibility requirements:

      • Resident of the Atlantic City region.
      • Accepted or returning to a post-secondary educational program.
      • Working towards a degree or certification.

The purpose of the MBCA Scholarship Foundation is to promote higher education to the residents of the Greater Atlantic City area by offering financial assistance in the form of scholarships for Students and a Direct Teach Grant for Creative Independent Programs. Scholarships and grants are awarded to help individuals achieve their goals of educational growth, develop their knowledge and potential, and allow them to contribute to the community.  Teacher Grants are awarded to an educator in the region (at any Institution level) that is funding an Innovative and Creative Program in the School.
